Returning Home [Open!]

It felt strange. Returning home after all this time in the military. Fighting countless different wars and having skirmishes all over the world. She had gone through hell and saw the worst in humanity and she lived to tell about it without any physical injury, but mentally there were scars. She could still hear the gunfire. She could still hear the explosions. They were all apparent inside her mind.

Tori got off the plane and went through the airport. Gathering her bags and walking forward. Waiting for her were her best friends in the whole world. Shinta, June, Lily, Nex, and Mary. They were holding signs and smiling as she approached them. Shinta was the first to approach her as he grinned.

"Welcome home, soldier," said Shinta.

The two shared a hug and then it was June's turn to approach the pair.

"I'm so glad you're home," said June.

Then it was Lily who came up, but instead of hugging her Lily cupped Tori's face and gave her a big wet kiss on the lips.

"Welcome back, beautiful!" exclaimed Lily.

"You're bad," replied Tori.

"Are we all allowed to kiss you?" asked Nex with one of his sexy grins as Mary came up to hug Tori also.

"Welcome home, Tori," said Mary. "How does it feel knowing you've successfully defended your country?"

"To be honest it feels weird."

"What are your plans now that you're home?" asked Shinta.

"I plan to open up a mercenary guild in the business district. Help where I can. Stay active. All that nice stuff."

"We're behind you one-hundred percent," said June.

Suddenly there was silence as there was one woman among them who Tori had not expect to be there. The same woman who she abandoned when they were engaged to be wed. Dani. Danielle Grey. She stood back away from the group and simply stared at Tori with a blank expression. It was always hard to read the woman's facial expressions. Tori slowly approached her, looking right into her ice cold eyes as Tori offered her a smile.

"Dani, it's good to-"

Tori was interrupted by a slap across her face from Dani. Dani gave her an angry expression as Tori had came to expect, but instead of saying anything Dani simply walked away and left the airport. Leaving Tori standing there with a hand on her now red cheek. Tori looked to the others and sighed.

"I guess I deserved that."

It was only a matter of time before Tori and Dani had a real talk about what happened all them years ago.
